I was commissioned by Plácida to create this vibrant botanical pattern with colourful flowers for Derprosa identity .

The botanical pattern accompanies its new range of products in all its graphic applications, whether digital or printed. This selection of plants ( Cornflower blue, poppy, hyacinth, broom, jazmín….) shares peculiarities, qualities or characteristics of these new products. Its central piece consists of a box containing the four new products, represented in four small boxes that function as a showcase of the benefits of each film.

Ogilvy UK commissioned me this “hornicultural” illustrations for a limited edition vegetable seed packet condoms for a Relate campaign in London. With STIs among the over- 65’s at an all-time high, this condom campaign plants messages about the risk of getting plowed & sowing wild oats while tending garden without protection.

Con motivo de la COP 25 celebrada en Madrid en Diciembre del 2019, el Museo del Prado y WWF España unieron sus fuerzas para denunciar los graves riesgos de una subida de la temperatura global media por encima de 1,5º grados.

Bajo el nombre “+1,5º C lo cambia todo”, ambas fundaciones han involucrado al arte clásico de forma directa con una de las mayores preocupaciones del presente mediante la intervención con ilustración digital sobre 4 de las más famosas obras de la pinacoteca.

Esta obra de Velazquez que representa a Felipe IV a caballo, es uno de sus retratos ecuestres más famosos.

Mi intervención “inundando” esta obra, ilustra lo que ocurriría en caso de que el nivel del mar aumentase hasta 1m de altura, lo que haría desaparecer estados enteros obligando a millones de personas a desplazarse.

On the occasion of the COP 25 celebrated in Madrid in December 2019, the Prado Museum and WWF Spain have united forces to draw attention to the dire risks inherent in a temperature rise of more than 1,5º degrees.

Under the title “+ 1.5º C changes everything” , both foundations have implicated classical art with the current most pressing issues through the intervention of digital illustration superimposed on 4 of the most famous paintings of the Museum.

This Velazquez painting of King Felipe IV on horseback is one of the painter’s most famous equestrian portraits.

My intervention "flooding" illustrates what would happen if the sea level increased to 1m high, which would create the disappearance of entire territories, forcing millions of people to migrate.

Cosmic Flora is an illustration for the collaborative illustration exhibition “Plants with Bite” at the Royal Botanical Garden Sydney about  the behavior of carnivorous plants.

Byblis liniflora, also known as the Rainbow Plant, is native to northern Australia. It is a very delicate annual carnivorous plant that produces sticky droplets to catch prey and flowers producing a pretty purple flower. With this plant as an starting point and adding the Yellow Utricularia Vulgaris flowers and the red Darlingtonia flowers, I have imagined a scene of a biologist exploring a new planet, collecting samples of life and new plants to study. She is about to cut a flower from the Rainbow Plant, but it is sensitive to the movement and in defence is already wrapping itself around her while she’s hypnotised by the beauty of the colours and movement.

La planta Byblis liniflora, también conocida como Planta Arcoiris es nativa del norte de Australia. Es una delicada planta carnívora anual de bonitas flores violetas que produce pegajosas gotas para atrapar a sus presas. Esta Planta inspira esta ilustración, en ella se ve a una astronauta recolectando muestras, la chica está apunto de cortar una flor de la planta Arcoiris, pero como la planta es sensible al movimiento, ya ha empezado a envolver a la astronauta que ha quedado hipnotizada por la belleza de los colores del jardín que ha descubierto.

This textile print was created in support and collaboration with the new brand “Bendito Bolso”(Blesséd Bag). The 100% organic, cotton bags are produced and confected by women of the APRAMP workshop - an NGO which works to get women out of prostitution and human-trafficking networks . The intention of the project is firstly to give those women of the APRAMP, an employment opportunity, and secondly, to promote different Spanish artists through the creation of two textile prints, for two different limited-edition bags. From a limited set of 50 bags per print, they are available for purchase from the benditobolso.com website.

In 2017, my entire interest was focused on works considering the harmonic combination of the 3 basic natural elements, animal, vegetal & mineral. The resulting series presents some of the ideas realized.
One of these illustrations was modified into a new work - As part of the collaborative project #pimpmyfactura, which aimed, through the sale of art, to pay off the debts of a  Argentinian, public nursery ("José L. Suárez”). The value of the illustration is the same as the invoice of one of the debts to be paid. This great initiative was organized by TBWA/Buenos Aires with Publicidar Foundation.

I was commissioned to make this digital oil-painted portraits of  3 Australian winemakers sisters for the labels of their MO Sisters wines. The client wanted to preserve the anonymity of the sisters so paint strokes were added to hide eyes and noses and also to contrast with the beautiful bronze metallic printing.

VIPS restaurants commissioned this set of illustrations for some of their star menu dishes (the Egeo sandwich, the Avocado toast, the Yogurt and muesli glass, the California Sandwich, the Green Vitality Smoothie and the Sicilian Salad, ) for the 2018 and 2017 advertising campaign posters, and also used them in certain restaurant accessories.

I was commissioned to draw these skulls for Dolina; an awarded craft beer produced in Burgos whose labels are inspired by the famous Atapuerca caves. I love the ingenious detail of these labels - having to scratch the gold printed shape in order to discover the illustrations beneath. A beautiful and smart Design by Moruba.

I was commissioned to illustrate this beautiful label for the Tasmanian vinery Shy Susan Wines.
The illustration is inspired by the rare and unique simbiosis between a little native Tasmanian Bee and the critically endangered wildflower Shy Susan (Tetratheca Gunnii ). The tiny pink blossoms of the Shy Susan only realize pollen when vibrated at the resonant frequency of the bees, her survival depends completely on them; their fate is forever entwined.

La idea está inspirada en la rara y simbiotica relación entre una pequeña abeja nativa de Tasmania y la flor silvestre en peligro de extinción Shy Susan (Tetratheca Gunnii). Sus diminutas flores rosadas solo generan polen con la vibración de las alas de las abejas, por lo que  su supervivencia depende completamente de ellas.

I really love monkeys, and I really like to celebrate Chinese New Year, so I started 2016 with these acrylic paintings to celebrate and congratulate for the new year of the fire monkey, 2016.
I also wanted to emphasize that a lot of these animals are seriously in danger so my position was and is to be against everything that causes them pain, such is the palm tree oil industry, deforestation, poaching, illegal animal trade, lab testing, zoos, circuses, shows etc.

My continual concern with animals in danger and in this case,  The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species

led me to illustrate some of them in order to visually underline and emphasize the problem.
This one is an acrylic painting of the beautiful Andean bear, endemic to the Tropical Andes, and the only extant species of bear in South America. They occupy a great variety of habitats, from desert-scrub to forests to high altitude grasslands, ranging in elevation from 250 to 4,750 m

In the beginning of 2016, after moving to the beautiful city of Granada, my interest was focused on nature, so I began to explore the nature around me collecting stones and plants from my walks with my two dogs; I wanted to combine the 3 basic elements together, as in life itself, in beautiful amalgamations, hence the name of the series, "animal.vegetal.mineral". My attention was to slow drawing, with pencil, on the splendor of "archer paper", as if the process itself became a meditative walk.

The City of Sydney is constructing rain gardens across Sydney to act as natural storm-water filter, which help to improve water quality in rivers and the harbour whilst supplying more greenery to urban streets. I was commissioned to illustrate the botanical species in the rain-gardens in order for residents to identify the plants.

I was commissioned by the Canadian agency Toolbox Design to illustrate this botanicals for The Oaks, one of the main projects of Strand, a Vancouver-based real estate finance, development and investment company.

The Yellow Flag (Iris Pseudacor) it´s a bright and beautiful flower that grows in wet conditions during the months of May and June. Is common to find them in wetlands, rivers and lakes along Europe and Asia.

At the end of 2016, I decided to try something new in a totally different style. Without a clear objective, the process lent itself to play and improvisation and experimentation.  Influenced by the illustrations I was following and the books I was reading, this enigmatic illustration was the result of the moment and a new approach to my visual world.
A few months later it was chosen as part of the project "dibujos por sonrisas", an initiative of the association creativos en acción, to raise funds for basic needs in European refugee camps.

The Singapore Soundsations Festival Organization wanted to create a poster for the 2015 edition with the idea of an illustrated tropical garden inspired by the local flora. I was commissioned to create this tropical garden in pencil. These are drafts of some of the plants for the central composition.

I was commissioned by El Diluvio Universal and Elisa Munsó to be part of the collective exhibition "we don't need another Hero".  At that moment I was investigating “energetic” portraits, so I took the opportunity of the show as an excuse for presentation; As I don't have any real heroes, I made a list of my favourite famous people and made these portraits from the list for the exhibition; I used two vegetable papers for each illustration, one in pencil and charcoal and another with colour. I finally chose Georgia O'Keefe portrait for display.

These Indian gods formed part of the illustrations commissioned by la casa encendida for the children’s publications "Un paseo por el mundo" (2008)   
The point was to show children the multiple and colourful gods in Indian culture and the rich iconography and symbolism  of the culture itself.

These are some of the more than 60 illustrations inspired by the culture, folklore, religion, gastronomy and history of China, Guatemala, Peru, Morocco, Africa, Colombia, India and Eastern Europe for the 2 publications/books for children "Un paseo por el mundo" ( A walk around the world ) about inter-culturality edited by "La Casa Encendida" in 2007-2008 and designed by Base Madrid.

In 2006, when Jr. Alfaro commissioned one of my first jobs, I created this set of Illustrations for the Identity of the audiovisual production company "Picnic". The idea of the project was to illustrate the elements of a "perfect” picnic, conquered by little ants, flies, and other bugs, and without where nature, instead of humans, becomes the protagonist. This project was awarded with the Junceda of illustration 2008 prize.
