I really love monkeys, and I really like to celebrate Chinese New Year, so I started 2016 with these acrylic paintings to celebrate and congratulate for the new year of the fire monkey, 2016.
I also wanted to emphasize that a lot of these animals are seriously in danger so my position was and is to be against everything that causes them pain, such is the palm tree oil industry, deforestation, poaching, illegal animal trade, lab testing, zoos, circuses, shows etc.

My continual concern with animals in danger and in this case,  The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species

led me to illustrate some of them in order to visually underline and emphasize the problem.
